Mountain Lion at Windgate Ranch. A jogger heads for safety in a car. The cat was sitting in the middle of the road on Thompson Peak Parkway, just north of Bell Road in Scottsdale. I was coming home from spin class at The Village at DC Ranch when traffic stopped. The Cat eventually ran off, but with a big limp. Looked like right front was broken. Poor thing will not live with a broken leg. Also, a hurt wild animal can be dangerous! I stopped 2 more joggers down Thompson Peak and sent them around the wounded Cat. If you are in the area be careful, he isn’t that big and at first I thought it was a fat house cat.
I have had several comments that the cat is a bobcat. Maybe so. But when it ran off, it had really long legs and looked different than the bobcats I have seen.
