MUDDY BUDDY RACE IS HERE IN PHOENIX/SCOTTSDALE TODAY AT MCDOWELL MOUNTAIN PARK-
That is right! So many of you have heard me talk about it, and it is finally here. Well several months ago I set out on a journey to loose some weight, train and be ready for today. The truth is my mindset was not ready for loosing the weight, but is prepared for a New Year’s run like never before. On the other hand, I trained like a mad man. I was taking 3 or more Spin classes a week and leaving nothing…I always limped away. On top of that, I went mountain biking and had a little 2.2 mile course I was running. I also started working with a personal trainer on core building. I was really seeing a change when the dreaded INJURY bug hit. Doctor said no riding for a month, proudly or pathetically, I was back in the saddle 2 weeks later. That was a bout 3 weeks ago. So, the real truth for today is I am as ready as needed, but not in top shape. Its OK, my racing partner, John Todaro “JT”, hasn’t been training at all. So we are the perfect match.
I just got my early Christmas present, a new helmet cam! So keep an eye out, I am videoing this whole event and will post it. So, if you can’t make it out to McDowell Mountain Park by 8:00 am this morning to cheer us on, you will be able to experience the event!
